They Seek Him Here, They Seek Him There
Today, I decided to wear this blouse and cardigan (both from Target). I like the yellow and purple together, and I really like the polka dots on the blouse. I wore this red bow in my hair that my sister and I used to wear when I was six-ish and she was four-ish. I love it. The cardigan is a bit big, so I cinched it with a red flower pin, and as I put it on, I pretended that I was Lady...

Grayscale
Yesterday, I wore a simple gray cardi from Target and jeans from Gap. Very simple. Nothin’ to it. But I did have fun with a little costume jewelry. School is ridic. right now, and I have a paper on Frances Burney and her use of violent comedy looming over me. As you can see from this post, all of my creative faculties have temporarily left me, and I’m stuck in grayscale.

October 26
This morning, I was quite at a loss for what to wear. After standing in my closet for a few minutes, I saw this sweater and decided to run with it. This sweater is from Gap, and I think I got it for like $3. It’s two sizes too big. But it was $3. I know that you’re never supposed to buy something that doesn’t fit and that I never would have done it had Stacy London been...

Gypsy Piano Teacher
That’s what I was (or pretended I was) yesterday. It’s such a lovely concept that implies tons of jewelry and beautiful prints. I love this dress. It’s from Target, as are the earrings, tights, and shoes. The cardigan is from Gap, and the peacock feather clip is from Modcloth. I had originally planned on wearing heels, but instead, I decided to dress it down with these...

Gray Skies
Today I went to a funeral, and this is what I wore. Originally, I had envisioned wearing this dress with textured tights, gray booties, jewelry, and sans sweater. Since I was going to a funeral, though, I decided to tone it down by donning these kitten heels, plain tights, a black sweater, and by pulling my hair back in a bun. I belted my sweater with the sash from my dress. Overall, I think...

Simple Friday
Yesterday, I went to a group meeting, dropped off some stuff at the Goodwill, and knitted. So, I decided to wear these old, old jeans from American Eagle and this simple top from Target. I like the ribbing and the big sleeves—it seems so much more interesting than just a plain black tee. Again, the sleeves make me think of flight. I really just can’t get off this subject. But...

Academichic
(I hope no one was creeped out by that last picture. It turned out to be really strange but also mystical. I don’t know…) Anyway, this is what I wore today. It’s a lovely fall day, and so I decided to take advantage of those pieces that I have in my closet that are strictly fall or spring, but I almost always forget to wear until it’s full-blown summer or winter....

Cutesy
I had to put this picture up. I think I’m trying to channel my inner Audrey, but really, I just look possessed. This is what I wore yesterday. It’s so, so cutesy, but I like it. The cardigan is a strikingly-bright pink (Nordstrom), the jeans are from Gap, and the pink shoes are keds. Once again, the white, ruffley tank from J Crew pulls everything together. I really love that...

Fly with Me
This is what I wore on Monday. I wore these cropped jeans (Target), toms, a black tank (Old Navy), and this jacket (Nordstrom). It’s a very simple outfit. The funny thing about recording what you wear is that you notice phases you go through and patterns that you keep. Once again, here’s the flying motif. This jacket is bomber-ish, and it makes me think of flying away on a plane....

Land of the Giants
Sorry about the lack of posts and the weird chronology—I’ve been having some computer drama. Anyway, this is what I wore on Tuesday. Overall, this is a puzzling look for me. Take the top, for instance. The shape connotes pirate, and the pattern connotes Lisa from Saved By the Bell. I like it, though. The skirt is nice and frilly, but the shoes are old man’s shoes. I really just...

"These Aren't My Walking Shoes"
That’s what I said to my sister today while we were traipsing across the urban jungle that is downtown Modesto in search of our parents. (That was a little dramatic. It was more like a few blocks around our church). Anyway, this is what I wore today.  The heels are a little high, and I’m a little tall, but I like them. I like the magenta color, and they’re from Target....

October 10
Today, I wore this lovely dress from Target. I love its drop-waist and ’20s appeal. I feel like this dress is the sort of thing that Jordan Baker from The Great Gatsby would wear to play golf (even though it has a tennis feel). I paired the dress with a cardi. from Nordstrom. I love the lace and the white covered buttons and the prevailing sense of propriety. It seems like...

Ladies' Lunch
This afternoon, my sister and I went to my great-great aunt’s 91st birthday lunch. So, I decided to wear this lovely cardi-sweater-thing that just adore. I like the color and the detail and just the overall delicate and feminine feeling that it gives any look. I kept it simple with a black tank, jeans, flip-flops, and a leopard bangle.  Of course, Lizzy stole the show. This is what...

Blue Skies
I love this little cardigan sweater. I love the black and white pattern. Usually I just pair it with a black tank, but today I realized that if I paired it with white, the whole look would lighten up. Bingo. The ruffles uplift the whole feel of the look as well. Once again, this little tank has made my day. The necklace (vintage) is the icing on the cake. A good braid, some jeans, and...

Rainy Morning
So this is what I wore on Tuesday. It rained Monday night and that morning. Best thing ever. I celebrated by donning this black cardigan (from J Crew) and this tee (from Target). I finished the look with jeans and these fun flats. They seem like a great mix of Oxfords and jazz shoes. Anyway, they were on clearance at Target, so I scooped them up.  Also, I’m in love with this nail...

October 4
Today I was able to wear this adorable little sweater. I haven’t worn it in years because I always seem to forget about it, and then when it’s winter, it’s much too cold to wear. You ever get that? I paired it with cropped jeans (I know you didn’t see that coming…) and flats from American Eagle. I love the shade of blue, and I love bows on the toes.

Sample of Fall
This morning, the weather was surprisingly cool (!), so I was excited to pull on my tights and this knit dress. The dress is from Target, and I love the simplicity of it. It doesn’t look like much on the hanger, but I really like it on me. I love the navy blue color, and the gray detail goes perfectly with my gray booties. I finished the look with red lipstick just for that extra bit of...
