Sometimes I Need a Little Sunshine
blouse, sandals, earrings—Target
skirt—Nordstrom
This week has been so busy. I had a rather exorbitant amount of reading and had a discussion presentation in my American lit. class the day that I wore this outfit. I started working on the presentation the day it was due, which is something I never do, so I was a little stressed, but I knew that I could handle it. As I was...

Professionalism, Part 2 and the Setting Sun
This is what I wore to class yesterday evening. Yesterday morning, however, I had orientation to be a substitute teacher. Again, I had to be rather professional. So I wore this outfit with black flats. Afterward, I decided that I didn’t want to wear something quite so stuffy to class, so I changed into my gladiators and a mock turban (because everyone knows that mock turbans make...

Wild Horses Couldn't Drag It from Me
Yesterday was the first day that looked and felt like fall. Today, however, the temperature is back in the high 80s, but that’s okay. I know there are more fall days yet to come. I decided to celebrate the cool weather by breaking out my booties and tights. This sundress is such a lovely shade of coral pink, and I paired it with this navy blouse and new scarf. Let’s talk about...

I Am in Shorts Purgatory
That’s what I told my mom yesterday. Let me just say that I am so over shorts. When you don’t usually wear them, you don’t usually buy them. As a result, I have two pairs of shorts, and since my surgery, I have worn them almost everyday. It gets old really fast. My knee is still way too swollen to wear pants, and even if it weren’t, a knee brace (which I continue to wear,...

Professionalism
cardigan, blouse, skirt—Target
flats—Sole Society
Yesterday morning, I had an interview. I wanted to wear something that was nice, professional, and not stuffy. So, I decided on this. I like the combination of bright color in the skirt with the ruffles and stripes of the blouse and the texture of the cardigan. I feel like most white sweaters have a tendency to lend themselves...

Hall of Fame Skirt
shirt, sandals—Target
skirt—Nordstrom
I’m getting rather bored with wearing shorts everyday, but it’s still so hot that I don’t really feel like wearing my fall skirts and dresses. It finally dawned on me that I could wear this lovely skirt that’s been with me through thick and thin. I’ve probably worn it about a million times, and it deserves some...

A Stab at Man Repelling
shirt—Nordstrom
shorts—Eddie Bauer
scarf—T.J. Maxx
earrings, belt, tights—Target
heels—Sole Society
This outfit seems to be a bit of a man repeller to me. My mom and sister didn’t hide what they thought of it. I rarely read fashion magazines (i.e. basically when I go to a nail salon). Anyway, the last time I got a pedicure, I read an article about...

Very High School
This outfit reminds me of high school. I wore jeans and black vans almost everyday of high school up to my sophomore year of college. Like everyone, I wore my vans until they deteriorated, and then I would buy—you’ll never guess what—another pair of black vans. Anyway, I haven’t had a pair of vans in a few years, and on a whim, I decided to wear them. The fact that...

Tie It in a Knot
blouse—Nordstrom
skirt—self-made
heels—Seychelles (via T.J. Maxx)
This is what I wore on Sunday. I didn’t especially feel like tucking in the blouse, so I decided to knot it. I like the way that the ruffles and stripes of the blouse play with the pattern of the skirt. And, of course, a pop of mustard in the shoe is always welcome in my book.

Last Wednesday
It feels like it’s been such a long time since I’ve posted anything. The only reason I remember I wore this last week is because I remember getting grilled in class on Aristotle while in this top. Pretty pathetic, right? Today, however, instead of Aristotle, I will doubtless be grilled on Saussure or Derrida, which is an even more frightening prospect.
I love the sleeves of this...
