Candles

I was at a thrift store last week and found a bunch of miss matched vintage glasses and cups, which inspired me to use them for candles. I also used a small mason jar that I had. So, I went to Michaels and bought some candle wax and wicks. I’d never made candles before, so I didn’t really know what I was doing…

Apparently, you’re supposed to buy some sort of adhesive for the wick. I didn’t know about this, so I glued the base of the wick to the cup using Elmer’s glue. (It worked perfectly).

I melted the first batch of wax in a double boiler. (Because I had microwavable wax, I ended up microwaving the remainder—it’s much, much easier).

Pour the melted wax in the cup, leaving some room.

After about thirty minutes, fill the wax to the top. Allow the candles to set, trim the wicks to 1/4 inch, and ta da! Super cute candles!
